Market Cook, Part-Time 

Summary

The purpose of this position is to prepare meals and food products in the Salt Creek Market & Garden kitchen, producing frozen meals, bread, and honey products.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Cooks, prepares, and packages meat, vegetable, and pasta-based meals.
  • Bakes bread and similar fresh food products.
  • Processes beef tallow to create tallow-based products.
  • Bottles raw honey in retail containers and large wholesale containers.
  • Processes raw honey products to create creamed honey, flavored creamed honey, and hot honey.
  • Research new recipes and value-added products.
  • Ensures the kitchen is clean, stocked, and meets food safety standards.
  • Occasionally assists in retail market.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Cooking and baking experience required.
  • Commercial kitchen experience and familiarity with food safety standards preferred.

Schedule

  • 1-3 Weekdays a week, depending on demand.
